The theme of today's post will be birthdays!



One example of compliance in birthdays is agreeing to be nice to the birthday person because it's their birthday and they asked you to.


One example of obedience at a birthday party is agreeing to follow the rules of the facility.

One example of social facilitation is being more careful cutting the cake because other people are present.

One example of group polarization is when everyone in a friend group pools money to buy the birthday person a gift and each person gives more money than they would have if they were buying a gift individually.

One example of reciprocity norms is when you give the birthday person a gift and they give you a thank you in return. They're also more likely to give you a gift when it's your birthday.

Online Icebreaker

 Hello! Welcome to my 2023 Psych Blog. I'm Chaitra and I'm a junior. This is me buying my family dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant with my first paycheck from my first ever job. I was really proud of all the hard work I did to earn my own money for the first time and I thought it was cool to do something for my family. Even though the bill was literally almost half of my entire paycheck (minimum wage), it was still worth it. 4 truths and a lie: 1. I know 4 languages.  2. My favorite kind of dessert is cheesecake. 3. I play the piano. 4. I usually visit India once a year. 5.
